Owner. Captain. Spearfisherman. Wildlife Guide. Shark Specialist.

Having spent all of his childhood and adult life immersed in marine activity surrounding Moorea and French Polynesia, Pierrick decided to launch Moorea Moana Tours so that he may share his passion with others.

He has been working in the tourism industry since 2004 and has been heavily involved in marine wildlife observation and spearfishing since 2002.

Recently becoming known for his work with sharks, he is the co-founder of the local nonprofit organization Mao Mana Foundation that aids in shark conservation, research, and public education.

Captain. Guide. Underwater Photographer.

Born and raised in Mo’orea, Chewy spends all of his time in the water whether it is as a captain, guide, va’a paddling, surfing, or taking underwater photo and video. When he’s not underwater, he’s hiking the mountains of Mo’orea.

He has been working in the ocean tourism industry since 2014 and is currently in training to become a shark specialist!

IOTUA

Captain. Whale whisperer.

Born and raised in Mo’orea, Iotua is arguably the most experienced captain on island. Our own personal “whale whisperer” with an incredible talent for understanding whale behavior and ocean conditions. An absolute favorite of our repeat adventurers!

When he’s not working on the water he’s working on film productions!

He’s the other half to our favorite superwoman, Charlotte.

Operations Manager.

Our staff supervisor, office woman extraordinaire, and logistics superhuman! She’s the one that makes sure everything runs smoothly and that your experience is as comfortable as possible.

When she’s not working with us she’s helping manage major film shoots and productions. Either that or she’s off in the Alps enjoying some fun in the snow!

Feel free to tip her with chocolate!

OUR VALUES

It is our goal to provide you an unforgettable experience and to also protect the marine environment.

As a company and community that relies on the ocean ecosystem, it is our priority to respect the ocean and all of its wonderful life. We pride ourselves in never forcing interactions with the wildlife, respecting ocean conditions, and giving back to the environment. We use no single use plastic during our tours as well as removing any pollution from the water that we encounter during our time on the water. There is always reef safe sunscreen (no oxybenzone/butylparaben/octinoxate ingredients that harm coral) onboard for guests to use.

Our priority lies both to guest safety and to respect of all wildlife we encounter during our tours. We will only enter the water with humpback whales after the biologist on board has observed their surface activity and deemed it safe for both the guests and the whales. Allowing the whales to continue their natural behavior, mating rituals, and migrational movements is vital for a healthy marine environment.

You will be given a thorough briefing before the expeditions with information on safety protocol aboard the vessel, rules to follow for in water interactions, as well of educational information on the marine life and ecosystem of Mo'orea. We hope to not only provide you with an unforgettable experience, but we hope to inspire you to help conserve the marine environment.
